Mentors are coaches and teachers, who have travelled through certain tracks ahead of you and hence can show you exactly how to get there. Mentorship is when a more experienced person guides a less experienced person. Mentors offer career advice, share experiences and clarify questions to the mentee.
Out of several means of competence development programs, mentorship comes out tops as it can advance your proficiencies and capabilities exponentially. Identifying and following a mentor is really amazing. A successful mentorship relationship leads to many positive ends. It does not only lead to knowledge transfer, it also culminates into a lasting business alliance between the mentor and the mentee. In short, there is no disadvantage to developing a working mentorship program.
