About the Course:

Our Disciplined Agile® Foundations course (formerly DASM) provides an eight-hour, PMI®-approved training that empowers professionals to design fit-for-purpose ways of working. DA isn’t a single prescriptive framework. Instead, it is a powerful decision-making toolkit combining agile, lean, and traditional practices, tailored to your team’s unique context.

Realize your team’s full potential by improving collaboration, adaptability, and efficiency. Learn how to optimize workflows, accelerate delivery, and foster continuous improvement using Disciplined Agile (DA)®.

Why Disciplined Agile Foundations?

Many teams struggle with inefficiencies, misalignment, and adapting to shifting priorities. Disciplined Agile Foundations: Approaches for Team Agility is an eight-hour course designed for project managers, team leaders, and consultants looking to enhance team agility and streamline workflows.

This course goes beyond agile basics, helping participants tailor their team’s ways of working using DA’s decision framework and knowledge base. Through interactive exercises and real-world case studies, attendees will learn to identify challenges, select the right agile, lean or other approaches, and develop an actionable improvement backlog.

The Training Covers:

  • Disciplined Agile Overview: Learn how DA’s decision framework, drawing from Lean and Agile, empowers you to choose and evolve your team’s optimal Way of Working (WoW), moving beyond rigid prescriptions.
  • Exploring the DA Knowledge Base: Master the DA Browser and microsite. Learn to effectively find proven practices and guidance within DA’s curated resources to inform your team’s process improvement decisions.
  • Solving Team Challenges: Utilize tools like the DA Team Canvas to diagnose team workflow issues. Learn to pinpoint specific problems and identify targeted solutions using DA’s context-sensitive guidance.
  • Accelerating Value Delivery: Apply DA’s 3-step Value Acceleration Process. Explore Quick Starts as tailored entry points to jumpstart improvement and build your team’s actionable improvement backlog.
  • Enhancement Team: Apply DA concepts in a practical scenario. Use the DA Knowledge Base and Value Acceleration Process to analyze an enhancement team’s context and build their improvement plan.
  • Maintenance Team: Analyze a maintenance team scenario. Practice using the DA Knowledge Base and Value Acceleration Process to design a context-appropriate WoW, contrasting it with other team needs.
  • Exploring More Scenarios: Discuss applying DA to complex delivery and non-IT teams. Consolidate key learnings and prepare to implement DA principles to continuously improve your team’s performance.
